From the 13th to the 17th centuries, the Reformers challenged the corruption and abuses of the Roman Church and recaptured the truth of the Gospel! Beginning with John Wycliffe and culminating with John Knox, the European Reformers established the Protestant movement that continues to this day.
The 5 Solas
The Reformers' doctrine is encapsulated in 5 succinct biblical statements, called the 5 Solas—Salvation is Sola Gratia (by grace alone), Sola Fide (through faith alone), Solus Christus (in Christ alone), Sola Scriptura (according to Scripture alone), Soli Deo Gloria (to the glory of God alone).
